Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) today announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Block Northway in Pittsburgh, Pa. The 40,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in fall 2016. The property is owned and managed by LRC Realty.

Since 2008, Nordstrom has operated a full-line store at Ross Park Mall which is approximately one mile from the new Nordstrom Rack location.

“We have loved serving customers since opening in Pittsburgh and we look forward to offering them an additional way to shop for their favorite Nordstrom brands at great prices,” said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. “Our new Nordstrom Rack store at The Block Northway will be right down the street from our Nordstrom store at Ross Park Mall. Many of our best Racks are close to our best full-line stores and we know customers like the convenience of shopping both.”

The new Rack will be a two-level store with a primary entrance on McKnight Road and a secondary entrance inside the mall on the promenade level. The addition of the Rack is part of an overall 470,000-square foot redevelopment of the center, formally known as the Shoppes at Northway, which will accommodate several other national retailers and restaurants.

“We are thrilled to have Nordstrom Rack as a key anchor tenant at The Block Northway. The Rack, together with several other national retail concepts, will provide the community an opportunity to shop for popular branded goods at attractive prices in a fresh and unique retail venue,” said Frank A. Licata, president of LRC Realty. “Years ago, the Northway Mall was one of the premier shopping centers in the Pittsburgh area, and today we are very excited to be involved in transforming it back into the first class shopping center that it once was.”
